Personal Bio  - Nicolas Tio

My connection to music and creativity started long before I can remember. I was born in Glendale, California, and raised in a household of multi-media artists. This artistic foundation was further deepened when I moved to Santa Cruz at the age of 13, where I was welcomed into the city's vibrant and creative community.

I've spent my life as a performer, playing guitar in a wide variety of genres, from reggae to funk and punk, and even in a theater pit. My passion for live performance led me to tour with a professional band, including a run on the Vans Warped Tour with Tess Dunn.

I co-founded Sungrown Studios to blend the artistic freedom of my diverse musical background with the professional discipline I learned as an owner-operator in a highly regulated industry. We believe that professional-grade audio isn't limited by location, which led me to partner on a case study for the LAMA Connect VST, showcasing the power of remote collaboration.

The work here is driven by a desire to bring a project's emotional core to life, whether composing a score for a film, producing an album for an artist, or collaborating on a radio ad.
