Our Role: Composer & Music Editor
Having grown up in Santa Cruz, our connection to the local community guided our work on the film Home Town Homeless. We produced and composed a three-part score that mirrors the film's emotional arc, using intentionally raw, acoustic instrumentation—a cümbüş, violin, and acoustic guitar—tuned by ear to create a personal and emotionally-charged soundtrack.

Our Role: Producer & Engineer
We produced and engineered this full-length studio album, managing the tracking and recording process to capture the band's powerful sound. The goal was to preserve the authentic energy of the live performance and create a high-quality product. The project was completed in collaboration with Almost Islanders, who provided mixing and mastering services.

Featured Artist: Fryp4n (Ryan Ouse)
Fryp4n, also known as Ryan Ouse, is a versatile producer and artist who frequently collaborates with Sungrown Studios. As a multi-instrumentalist proficient in drums and bass, Fryn4n explores his individual artistic vision through beat-making and production. His discography includes albums like "Go All Night" and "Outliers," showcasing his talent for crafting genre-defying music with intention.

Our Role: Composition, Production, Editorial
We collaborated with the client and co-writer Trianna Feruza to compose and produce a theme song for Santa Cruz Naturals. We delivered a final product that was professional, memorable, and met the client's commercial needs for local radio advertisements.

Our Role: Producer, Engineer, and Musician
Fresh Hoja is a vibrant new band that fuses funky, trippy hip-hop with lively Latino rhythms. The diverse backgrounds of its members enrich a dynamic duo based in Santa Cruz, whose sound—a combination of a Californian upbringing with a Latin American heartbeat —reflects this diversity. As the studio that produces and engineers their upcoming tracks, we are capturing a genre-defying sound that reflects their eclectic influences, from Anderson .Paak and OutKast to Spinetta and Milo J.
Our Role: Studio Partner
Sungrown Studios partnered with Troy Nadeau and Almost Islanders for a case study on the remote recording VST, LAMA Connect. We provided a studio environment optimized for rhythm tracking and collaborated on a workflow that enabled live full-band recording across two locations. Our work was featured in a case study that showcased the VST's capability to overcome the limitations of distance and physical space.
